The Harma 12AY7 STR Philips 6V6GT full upgrade kit is designed to provide a clean vintage tweed tone. A crystal clear top end with more clarity when used clean. Overdrive these USA made 6V6GT Jem's and will provide you with a sound rich in harmonic detail with excellent sustain. Ideal in you prized Lazy J
The Harma 12AY7 is clearest and most neutral sounding of all the current production 12AY7 types.
It is clear with a very smooth breakup characteristic when the amplifier is pushed.
When overdriven the valve has that harmonic compressed tone which is a trademark of the Fender tweed sound and produces more chiming top end. So is ideal to recreate the vintage sound of the early 1950's Fender amplifiers.
The Harma ECC83 STR is used to maintain the amps sparkling clean sounds. The mid-range is clean and transparent which removes the mush from the sound when the amplifier is overdriven. The valve responds very well to pedals and crunches up with a fat well balanced tone.
The Philips 6V6GT is used as no other 6V6GT supplies that sparkling clean sound and top end chime as well as this valve. That is why this valve is considered the bench mark when it comes to Fender style clarity. When overdriven from the amp or via a tube screamer the Philips has a musical crunch
With a sweet singing sustain. It simply out classes the modern made 6V6GT without exception.
The 5Y3WGTA Philips is also an outstanding valve as they are one of the most rugged 5Y3WGTA rectifiers ever made as they were designed for military applications.
