The Harma 12AY7 STR Groove Tube 6L6GC GE Full Upgrade Kit simply nails that Authentic American sound. This is down to the amazing Job Groove tubes did when they remade the Classic General Electric 6L6GC.

The Harma ECC83 STR is used to maintain the amps sparkling clean sounds. The mid-range is clean and transparent which removes the mush from the sound when the amplifier is overdriven. The valve responds very well to pedals and crunches up with a fat well balanced tone.

Now to the tone monster, The Groove Tubes 6L6GC GE Re issue is a faithful recreation of General Electric later type clear top 6L6GC. This is one of the most famous 6L6GC of all time due to incredible dynamic range sound quality and large sound stage.

This Groove Tube has the right balance of clarity and distortion when pushed in Tweed style amplifies.

In clean mode, this valve provides a warm smooth sound with a very clean and open treble and is a faithful reproduction of the originals tone. In overdriven mode the valve has the right balance in terms of clarity and crunchy dynamics producing a clear creamy warm sustain. Hit a power chord and each individual string can be heard clearly. Solo jumping with that Alnico The string definition of this valve is just like the original.

Aspen and the factory that produced these 6L6GC are sadly no long with us. Aspen drive to achieve the tone and characteristics of the General Electric 6L6GC has left us with the best sounding modern made 6L6GC bar none.
