Robert Keeley is one of the best Guitar pedal designers and modders in the music industry. The worlds biggest stars and producers use his pedal from Steve Vai to U2 'The Edge'.
The Keeley Magnetic Echo pedal has been designed to recreate the authentic tape echo of the classic vintage models in a small pedal board friendly pedal.

Vintage tape echoes have long been regarded as the best form of delay for guitar.

The Keeley magnetic echo has a range from 40ms to 600ms of delay and can produce short slap back style delays to longer vintage style delays. Keeley have been very clever with the modulation of this pedal giving that authentic tape feel. They have recreated an accurate circuit to reproduce “Wow and Flutter” which was the term given to the slight pitch shift or wavering that occurs as the tape is pulled across the heads. Therefore it provides the warm vintage tape echo sounds that are so sought after.

The result is that the Keeley Magnetic echo provides the most authentic tape style chorusing and pitch shifting without going to tape. This ranges from subtle repeats to spacey clear echoes. The pedal has Depth and Flutter controls allowing you finely tune your echoes. The echoes are easily controllable with Delay Time, Regeneration and Level controls giving you a superb range of echo like delays.

Delay Time - This Time control roughly sets the length between your repeats between 40ms and 600ms. This range is well suited for classic, vintage delay sounds that are great for slap-back or medium length delay times.

Regeneration - This control sets the number of repeats. You can set this for a single slap back echo or turn it up for a runaway, self-oscillating or self-regenerating echoes and all points in-between.
Delay Level - The Level control is your mix, how loud you want to hear the echoes.

Depth - Turn this control to achieve deeper and deeper chorusing and pitch shifting on your echoes. As you raise the control the Depth and Rate LED will start to glow giving you a visual indication as to the amount of modulation you are applying to the repeats.

Rate - This is your Flutter control. Its another way to control how poorly your tape echo is performing. Not that any tape deck was every in this bad of condition, but it sure sounds good to have a little pitch modulation on your echo. Using these controls gives you a nice way to create unique and very musical delays.

Keeley have developed the Magnetic echo over the best part of 9 years and have produced a pedal that will fit on any pedal board and give that vintage tape echo sound. So from Rockabilly slap-back or great classic Reggae and Rock sounding echo, the Magnetic Echo will do the job.
