The Marshall JTM 45 2245 THW 30 watt Hand wired Classic full revalve kit is specially selected for Marshalls fabulous JTM45 THW head with the magical KT66. The Classic Marshall kits are designed to give your Marshall as close to the old Mullard tone as possible. This is done by using modern day production valves that are traditionally voiced.

In the Pre amp section we use the following,

The Harma ECC83 Retro is a true sounding recreation of the famous Mullard ECC83. This valve replicates the warm detail and harmonically rich midrange that made the Mullard sound so famous.
The ECC83 Retro retains the classic Marshall crunch and provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with an excellent 3 dimensional midrange response. This valve has a traditional British voiced sound and this valve has the outstanding feature that when it is overdriven it provides a warm sustaining sound with plenty of upper harmonics. This combined with its smooth linear midrange response and extended low frequency response means you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows.
This captures that classic vintage Marshall sound better than all the other ECC83/12AX7 that I have tried.

In the output stage

The Harma KT66-Retro is a meticulous recreation of the famous G.E.C Osram KT66 and follows the original military specification KT66/CV1075. The Harma KT66 Retro has a number of special features such as a gold plated grid wire with carbonized screen grids. The anode plates use a tri-alloy plate structure with gives exceptional performance and sound quality. The Harma KT66 Retro share the same anode design and bottle shape as the original it has the top mica supported with spacers on the 4 corners to prevent rattle and is made with a brown replica base just like the G.E.C.
In the Marshall these will supply the famous blues breaker tone of tight punchy lows and clear dynamic highs. This valve gives the following improvements over the standard Chinese item. The valve has a richer clear treble response which has more clarity and bite at the top end. The Harma KT66 Retro has a supreme warm midrange tone resulting in rich harmonics when overdriven. The bass end has more weight and slam and is well focused and crunches with more dynamics than the standard valve.

The Harma KT66 Retro is as close as you can get to the original British made GEC KT66 in terms of look and tone. These are simply the right valves to power this remarkable Marshall Head.

The Rectifier
The Harma GZ34 Retro is based on the Mullard GZ34 and is used as it provides the correct rectification with no reduction in B+ voltage unlike many of the modern GZ34 on the market today. So with the Harma GZ34 Retro installed it will maintain the Classic Marshall Sound.

The set consists of 7 valves

3 Specially Gain selected Harma ECC83 Retro in V1 to V3,
1 Specially Gain selected and balanced Harma ECC83 Retro in V4
2 Selected and matched Harma KT66 Retro in a matched Pair.
1 Selected Harma GZ34 Retro rectifier.
