These are specially selected full revalve kits for Mesa Boogie owners. The sets consist of specially position selected pre amp valves that have been selected for each position in your Mesa. We have 2 pre amp kits, Standard gain, to give a warm and fat overdrive and Our Classic kit provides boogie owners with a valve close in tone to the vintage Mullard ECC83. In terms of 6L6GC we have selected sets available that will work with the boogies fixed bias arrangement. Certain 6L6GC will be better for certain kinds of music and these we have indicated in our product description.

This full revalve kit consists of specially selected Harma ECC83 Retro pre amp valves and Groove tube 6L6GC GE reissue output valves which have been burst tested and selected for Mesa Boogie amplifiers.

This set has been designed to give your Mesa that classic warm vintage tone in clean mode with rich punchy distortion that many players require out of their Mesa amplifiers when cranked. The outstanding feature of the Groove tube 6L6GC GE reissue is how it distorts in the Mesa circuit. It produces a smooth warm break up with very little compression with a large open distortion.

The pre amplifier valves are specially selected for Mesa amplifiers for low microphonics and gain and the kit includes a balanced valve for the phase inverter position.

The output valves have been specially burst tested by us under real working conditions to ensure the utmost reliability. In addition to GTs in house testing and distortion rating they also undergo our own unique real world burst testing. The burst testing process involves a series of varying timed electrical signal bursts. This runs the valves under the same stress conditions that they will meet in your amplifier the output valves are then specially selected to run with the Mesa non- adjustable fixed bias arrangement. This will ensure that you get the best selected GT valves available anywhere in the world.

The Harma ECC83 Retro pre amp valve offers more harmonic warmth with more transparency in the midrange.The outstanding feature of the Harma ECC83 Retro is its smooth linear midrange response and clarity under overdriven conditions. So you get smooth warm singing overdrive with tight fat punchy lows. This has become our most popular pre amp valve for Mesa amplifiers.

The Groove Tubes 6L6GC GE is a re issue of the famous clear Top General Electric 6L6GC. It features the same anode plate design with welded and stapled side bracing. It has extra thick mica spacers which are fixed by the extended anode plate which reduces vibrations, rattle and microphonics which is a problem with many modern 6L6GC.
Sound wise; the Groove Tube 6L6GC Re issue has the clean and crunchy American vintage sound that takes the harsh edge off the modern high gain sound. It is not surprising that this has become our most popular 6L6GC for use in Mesa amplifiers.
