This 4 valve set is specially selected for Marshall amplifiers and covers all Marshall models that have a 4 valve pre amp section with the phase inverter in the V 4 position. These include Vintage & Modern models 2266c, 2266, 2466, DSL series such as DSL2001, DSL401, DSL50 & DSL100 and TSL series TSL60, TSL601, TSL602, TSL100 and TSL122 with a 4 valve pre amp section.
This kit is for the guitarist who wants to slightly reduce the distortion and gain level of his amplifier without drastically changing the overdriven sound
In position V1 the valve acts as a dedicated gain stage for each channel.
By putting this valve the V1 first gain position you will lower the gain of a pre amp circuit by around 15%, a reduction of typically 15 mu or 0.5 db of gain. This provides a slight reduction in gain to provide a little more clarity in your sound without drastically changing your overdriven sound.
The 5751 STR HG has all features of the Harma ECC83 STR as it provides the most neutral and clear sound. The valve is very well balanced with nice even bass which has plenty of depth.
By using this set you will achieve a very transparent and clear treble with a nice open chime when compared to regular ECC83 12AX7 but with the added bonus of more gain than a regular American 5751. So it will not sacrifice the overdriven sound when your amp is cranked.
The set consists of 4 valves
1 Specially Selected Harma 5751 STR High Gain for position V1
2 Specially Selected Harma ECC83 Retro in V2 & V3
1 Specially Selected & Balanced Harma ECC83 Retro in V4
The Harma valves are specially selected for this kit using very tight gain parameters and
Gain selection of the triode sections. The valves are carefully selected for low noise and low levels of hiss and ambient noise with a signal to noise ratio better than -80dBV.

These specially chosen pre amp upgrades kits are designed to give deliver the sound that you want from your Marshall amplifier.
Our low gain kits provide the cleanest sound in the pre amp stage which many players like.
Our medium gain kit simply removes the edge off the sound and provides a later breakup when compared to a regular ECC83 type. The number in the title indicates the amount of gain reduction the kit provides. Our standard gain Classic kit is our most popular as this delivers a sound as close to the classic Mullard 3d midrange tone. With this kit you get a smooth warm crunch which is rich in harmonics and detail. Our High gain kit provides the same tone with earlier break up and maximum over drive.
We then select these and supply these in special sets for Marshall Owners.
