Orange amplifiers have provided the classic British valve amp sound since 1968. Orange designs have been very effective as they do not clutter the signal path with gimmicks they simply build amplifiers that are correctly designed and made. These specially chosen revalve upgrade kits are designed to help you get the best out of your Orange. The Classic kits aim to provide that Mullard/ British Rock sound, Smooth warm crunch with rich harmonics. These are enhanced by combining these with a speaker upgrade to help you get the best out of these classic British amplifiers.
The Orange AD5 Classic upgrade kit fitted with a Celestion 10 inch greenback is designed to provide the ideal combination for those who demand a tight bass response with a warm creamy mid-range and a smooth vintage style top-end.

It is an effective upgrade over the stock Celestion speaker as it provides a more authentic blues rock sound. This in conjunction with the Harma Retros added warmth makes this an excellent upgrade ideally suited to Rock through to Jazz.

We use a combination of the best of the current production items to achieve this.

The Harma ECC83 Retro provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with excellent 3D midrange warmth. This valve has a traditional British voiced sound that has a huge singing sustaining tone when overdriven. The outstanding feature of this valve is its smooth linear midrange response and extended frequency response so you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows.

The Harma EL84 Retro has a deep well defined tight bass that produces the classic slam of the Mullard in the bottom end. The midrange performance has been tweaked to provide a warm clear detail at low volumes with clear articulation and smooth even distortion when the amplifier is cranked.

The Celestion Greenback 10 speaker provides a warm creamy midrange tight bass response. The speaker has a smooth vintage treble response with nice clarity on chords and single notes. In overdriven mode it provides a warm creamy midrange which makes it ideal for rock and blues as well as modern styles of music.

1 Celestion 10 inch Ceramic greenback 10-30 watt 16 Ohm speaker
