The valves that we stock under the Svetlana winged C are the original items made by the JSC Svetlana Company that owns and operates the Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg, Russia. This factory has a long history of making valves and transmitting valves .In fact have been making vacuum tubes for over 100 years.
These valves have constantly topped not only our own valve reviews but also in audio and guitar reviews the world over. They offer some of the best sounding types available today.
Watford valves has cryogenically treated some of the more popular and best sounding Original Svetlana / winged C valves. This process makes a permanent change to the valves performance and the benefits do not deteriorate over time or upon return to operating temperature, it changes the whole way the vacuum tube performs..

The Cryo Treatment enhances the sound of the valve. The treble response has much more clarity and detail with more percussive attack. The valve also has a clearer midrange with a tighter more fluid bass response. The valve overall has a much more musical response. The performance under distorted and saturated conditions is first rate and transforms this valve performance dramatically.
The Svetlana 6L6GC Winged C has tight manufacturing specification and tolerances and improved processing provided the best made modern 6L6GC with improved reliability and superior sonic performance that rivalled the old USA made valves.
The Svetlana 6L6GC Winged C features thick mica spacers and internal bracing to help reduce vibrations and microphonics. It features a gold plated molybdenum alloy control grid and graphite coated screen grid to reduce secondary emission.
The valve produces an even and rich soundstage without sounding muddy under full distortion. This is the best clean sounding current production 6L6GC made today.
The treble is clear and smooth and has a nice chime when used in Fenders close to the old USA made Philips Sylvania sound.
The Cryo treatment is proven scientific process that permanently enhances the valves performance. This gives the valve more clarity and definition especially under overloaded conditions.
The bass response is rock solid and very well balanced. The top end is very smooth with no hardness. They come dual matched in pairs and quads as is without doubt the best sounding 6L6GC on the market today. The sound quality of the Cryo treated valve is comparable with rare new old stock valves with a much higher price tag.
These are available in dual matched pairs and quads which are matched on plate current and gain.
